What’s in Season – November

Despite the unseasonably warm weather the seasonal food is starting to feel truly wintry. Make the most of what’s good now with this selection of recipes.

Halloween might be over, but it’s still pumpkin season. If you’ve got a glut, this delicious Pumpkin Soup (main pic) is a simple way to use them up! The recipe is taken from the Hairy Bikers’ Mums Still Know Best.

Rabbit is always in season (which makes this suggestion a bit of a cheat!), although as it’s so great in a hearty casserole, like this Lapin à la Moutarde with Chocolate it feels more like a winter ingredient. The chocolate adds an extra depth to the flavour to the recipe, which is taken from Rococo.

This Roast Cod with Winter Ratatouille recipe is by Gaston Blackiston and taken from the Saturday Kitchen Cooking Bible. It’s super-pretty and uses a great selection of winter vegetables, with a delicious lemon sauce to freshen it all up.
